The General Topic for the ICAR 2018 Convention in Chamonix France (as decided by the ICAR Assembly of Delegates last year) is "Influence of Climate Change to Mountain Rescue Operations"

Avalanche rescue and issues related to global warming.

Location: Grands-Montets (3295 metres).

Each participant must bring the following equipment :

  • harness, 
  • cow’s tail/leash, 
  • helmet,
  • crampons

Participants should be able to use crampons with confidence.

Accompanying person

The accompanying program will consist of heritage visits (museums and history of the city), visits to remarkable sites (Aiguille du Midi and Emosson dam) and hiking. 

The program is predictive and will be adjusted according to the weather conditions.
